This deck chair, designed by BERNHARD | BURKARD, stands out for its simplicity and functionality. It is specifically designed to be leaned against walls or rails in a flat angle, providing stability and safety. The anti-slip coated stand ensures a secure grip on any surface, making it suitable for various environments.

Despite its unconventional appearance, the curt deck chair offers a comfortable seating experience. The frame-part is manufactured in the sheltered workshop altra, using local woods such as ash and beech. This not only adds to its aesthetic appeal but also promotes sustainability.

The deck chair is made from an outdoor caravan fabric and a wooden frame part. The bottom end of the frame is covered with anti-slip coated rubber paint, preventing the chair from slipping down. With dimensions of 1600 x 800 x 50 mm, it provides ample space for relaxation.

This innovative design challenges traditional notions of what a deck chair should look like. By reimagining its form and function, BERNHARD | BURKARD has created a unique piece that combines practicality with artistic flair.

The curt deck chair was first showcased in 2011 and has since garnered attention for its distinctive design. It was exhibited at Salone Satellite in 2013 and is set to enter the market in 2014. The chair's center of gravity, located low under the sticks, adds to its stability and reinforces the designer's emphasis on physics.

One of the challenges faced by the designers was convincing people that this chair is not only visually appealing but also functional. By capturing an image that appears dangerous at first glance, they were able to attract attention and intrigue users.

The curt deck chair has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in 2014 in the Furniture Design category. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the chair's outstanding craftsmanship, innovation, and artistic skill.
